Twins . . . sorta.

My friend Joel bought #4 from me about two years ago. It needed a little maintenance work so I’ve had it at the house for a few days. It’s been a lot of fun comparing and contrasting the new soprano with this older one.  Joel’s uke has a black locust body, mahogany neck and walnut fretboard, headstock veneer, binding, bridge and end graft. The fret markers are on the side.

Which sound hole size do you prefer?

  1. i like the big hole. is this a quiz?

  2. I like the larger sound hole, as well as the base of hte fretboard shape on the newer one, but I like the slightly more angular shaping of the headstock on the older one. Beautiful instruments both.
